February 24, 2017
Central Park, New York

One of our favourite topics at Curvissa HQ has to be weddings, and we’re all in agreement that there’s something so romantic about a gorgeous winter wedding. So for today’s blog, we’ve done a little bit of around the world exploration to find the most beautiful venues for winter weddings. If you’re engaged, or know somebody who is, or you just want to look at pictures of beautiful snow covered weddings, you’re definitely in the right place.

We’re going all out with our first destination wedding. Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler, Canada, is located right on the shores of a glacier fed lake, and has suites, a spa and amazing dining. It’s also one of the top 25 hotels in Canada. If you want to get married at this gorgeous venue, you’ll find a choice of ceremony venues within this hotel, from the outdoor Porte-cochère with views of the mountains (pictured) to the Aura Restaurant Patio with expansive views of Nita Lake.

The Ice Hotel – Sweden

If Canada’s not quite cold enough, how about tying the knot inside Sweden’s very own Ice Hotel, complete with Ice Church for the ceremony? The Ice Church is re-sculpted every year with a new design by specialist carvers. It’s opened on 26 December each year, and then it stays open until April when it begins to melt back into the river. The ice church is an intimate venue, accommodating around 35-40 people, with walls and ceiling made of snow and altar details and benches made of ice. Pretty cool eh?

Central Park – New York

Just like in the movies, you could be saying I do in one of New York City’s most iconic locations. There are multiple areas in the park where you can get married, including Shakespeare’s garden, Belvedere Castle, the Boat House and the Ladies Bridge. Winter in New York is chilly, so we’d recommend warming up at your reception afterwards in one of the city’s many luxurious hotels.
