Spring is in the air! After a few months of hibernating, there’s a sense of renewed energy when spring comes around so make the most of it to give your fitness regime a boost. Here at Curvissa, we know that getting in shape for summer is a serious motivator, so read on for all the best tips for staying fit and healthy this season.
Dress the Part
Treat yourself to a few new pieces of gym gear to get you going. Looking good and feeling good go hand in hand, so if you feel amazing in your new leggings, you’re going to want to get out there and show them off!
Find Something Fun
Exercise shouldn’t be a chore. If running isn’t your thing, don’t commit yourself to hours on the treadmill or you’ll find yourself looking for excuses to avoid it. Try a ballet class, an upbeat spin class or a box fit session. The more you love your workouts, the more you’ll want to go.
Set Goals
Setting goals is one of the best ways to stay motivated. Perhaps there’s a 5k race you want to complete or a new weight you want to lift. Set performance based goals and the physical results will soon shine through.
Tell Your Friends
Keeping yourself motivated can be a struggle at times but if you get a friend on board you’ll encourage each other to keep going. We don’t want to let our friends down, so if we’ve made a joint workout date, we’re much more likely to stick to it.
Walk it Off
Whether you’re counting your daily steps or not, walking is a great way to supplement your fitness regime. Walk to the local shop instead of driving; take the stairs instead of jumping in the lift. These extra bursts of activity will soon add up and you’ll find you’re burning those extra calories without a second thought.
Everywhere’s a Gym
Your workouts don’t have to be confined to the gym. The weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer so head out to your local park, or even simply step out to the garden to take in the fresh air whilst you’re getting active. When the weather isn’t on your side, home workouts are just as good. Grab your dining room chair and do some dips, use your stairs for step ups or do your favourite circuit in your living room. If you get creative, anywhere can be your gym!
