Curvissa hit the Curve Project!

March 11, 2014
Curve Project

Here at Curvissa HQ, we can’t wait for the Curve Project. Held this Saturday, we’re grabbing a few fashion friends and heading down to London to celebrate plus size beauty.

The average British woman’s size is 16. Yet plus size women are still misrepresented in the media. And whilst the British Plus Size Fashion Weekend helped to promote plus fashion, much more can still be done.

Curve Project

The Curve Project is a fantastic event promoting big as beautiful.  Calling all women with an interest in modelling or love of fashion, the Curve Project presents the UK’s FIRST Body confidence masterclass & intensive curvy model workshop. It encourages women to embrace their curves and break preconceived ‘norms’ that the fashion industry imposes on us.

As the first project of its kind, we’ve no doubt it’ll be amazing. But what can we expect?

Celeb Style Tips

That’s right ladies, VIPs to the event will receive the celeb treatment at the Curve Project. Special guests will be on hand to provide expert advice and reveal style secrets, one-to-one.

In addition to getting a sneak preview of our exclusive High Summer product, attendees also have the opportunity   to try on the clothes with professional stylists. These include the lovely Sarah Tankel Ellis from ITV’s Lorraine and Sophie Kirkwood from ITVs This Morning!

And that’s not all.  Providing hints and tips on the best ways to look and feel body confident, the Curve Project has arranged hair and make-up workshops.

Once pampered and preened, VIPs will then be given professional catwalk tutoring by famous model coaches and catwalk trainers Les Child and Samantha Leverette, who have worked at such prestigious events as London Fashion Week and alongside luxury brands Louis Vuitton, Prada and McQueen. We can’t wait!

Meet the Founder

We’d like to introduce the founder of the Curve project Saffi Karina. Being a successful plus sized model, she’s knows all too well the struggles curvy women face in finding the right fashion for them.

Empowering, educating and encouraging young women to love and embrace their body, Saffi’s here to prove that self- assurance is all you need to stand out from the crowd. Her belief is that ‘Beauty is NOT a size-it’s an attitude and a confidence that shines from within!’ and we agree!
