9 -5 Summer Style: The Workwear Edit

July 29, 2016

As the temperature soars, it can sometimes be difficult to decide what to wear for work in the heat. That’s why we’ve created a workwear style guide specifically for the summer months. You’ll find plenty of inspiration for smart, chic and cool workwear, ideal for those sunny days. Read on for summer outfit ideas:
The cropped trousers

CroppedTrousers

Cropped black trousers are a summer workwear hero. Choose a pair in a lightweight fabric to keep you cool in the heat. We love these cropped stretch trousers with zip detail – they look so chic with either high heeled sandals or cute flat pumps. Style with a smart loose fit tee, or a cool linen blouse for a winning workwear look.

The wrap dress

WrapDress

One of our favourite styles of dress for all occasions, the wrap dress is a flattering fit on all figures. This monochrome stripe dress is perfect for summer days at work as it’s lightweight, loose fitting and still looks super smart. Style with oversized sunnies, block heel sandals and a statement handbag for an outfit that looks as cool as it feels.

The pencil skirt

PencilSkirt

The pencil skirt is a working wardrobe staple, but mix it up a little in summer by swapping plain black for a retro-inspired print. Ditch the tights, and style with pretty flat sandals. (Quick tip: keep a pair of heels underneath your desk to slip on if you want to look more professional for a meeting or interview).
The short sleeve blouse

ShortSleeveBlouse

A must-have for your summer wardrobe, we’d suggest stocking up on a few colours to mix and match with other work wear pieces. Tuck your blouse into a midi pencil or skater skirt, style with black trousers or culottes, and layer it underneath a cardigan or v neck jumper as the weather turns colder. If you buy one piece for your summer work wardrobe, make it this.
The summer sandal

Espadrille

If your office insists on close toe shoes, these espadrilles make a great alternative to sandals. They’re available in a choice of colours but we’d go for neutral rose as a summery alternative to black. They’re versatile too – as well as a great choice for work, they look fab with cut-off jeans or summer dresses for the weekend.
