This weekend the Curvissa team travelled to Leeds for the greatly anticipated Plus North Event! A plus size fashion event celebrating all things plus. Set up by the lovely Northern bloggers Toni and Becky and inspired by the Plus London fashion event.
The event gives bloggers, brands and other plus size ladies the opportunity to meet up and spend an afternoon with like-minded ladies, talking fashion, style, make-up and generally having fun!
Still being a fairly new brand, this was Curvissa’s first venture out. We didn’t know exactly what to expect, but were very pleasantly surprised to find a fantastically organised event in an amazing venue with a whole tribe of fabulous bloggers and other lovely ladies. The fun and enthusiastic atmosphere was amazing and needless to say we had a fantastic day meeting everyone and getting involved in all the activities!
There was so much going on though-out the day from drinks and canapés, makeovers and competitions… to catwalks, sample sales and our very own ‘Style A Mannequin’ prize draw, that involved styling a Curvissa outfit from our rail of clothes, shoes and accessories. A person was then picked out a hat and won the outfit that they styled.
We were delighted how popular the ‘Style A Mannequin’ prize draw was with the bloggers and were really impressed with all the cool ideas and awesome outfits created. We had a variety of styles ranging from casual chic, flawless formal, fabulous folksy and radiant retro….
to a totally tribal look created by Mel Chillag, who’s outfit you can read about in her blog: gladragsandthehandbags
Some particular favourites amongst stylists were items such as the racoon t-shirt, this black frilly skirt, the polka dot shirt and these gorgeous pump style wedges…

We were also really chuffed to have raised £70 for Sue Ryder Manorlands hospice from our £5 sample sale we held. A bargain for a good cause!
All in all, we had a really great time! It was a really well organised, fun and fabulous day and we hope there is another one very soon!!
