Our London Fashion Week Round Up…

February 7, 2013

We’ve been swotting up on London Fashion Week knowledge in preparation for the fashion geeks of the world to unleash their designs for AW13 on us. In the meantime, today we’re looking at how the trends predicted for SS13 turned out.

Research* by the fashion gurus at LFW has revealed what consumers really thought about the trends that were unleashed last Fashion Week…

1950s Feel

Overall, there was a 67% positive feedback for the 1950s look, which is great news for us! Our site is brimming with 50s styles so make sure you check out the dresses online to get yourself fabulously fifties. From polka dot designs, high-waisted skirts, monochrome patterns and iconic pencil skirts, we’ve got it all.

Utility

The utility style was received with a slightly more neutral feel – with around half of people not having an opinion either way. 31% were decidedly positive though, showing a strong potential for this trend to go from strength to strength. The utility look seeks to combine military styles like camo and khaki with feminine detailing such as sequin embellishments and floaty skirts – we personally think it’s a great look, what about you?

Dip Dye

Unfortunately our hipster friends didn’t do so well this time around, with 52% of consumers giving negative feedback about the dip dye trend. We’re divided here at Curvissa HQ – we can see the appeal of dip dye during festival season, but it also slightly reminds us of games played at Brownie Camp… What’s your opinion of the dip dye craze?

And with London Fashion Week hosting the first ever event dedicated to plus size clothing, we couldn’t be more excited! Watch this space, as we’re sure to be bringing you hot off the press news, gossip and comments on this exciting time for plus size fashion.
