Christmas Fake Tan

Once winter comes around, it’s easy to forget the beauty routine we set ourselves each summer, and our skin quickly loses that healthy, radiant appearance we achieve from religiously exfoliating, moisturising and tanning. Now it’s the party season, you probably have a gorgeous dress (or three!) picked out for the festivities that you’ll want to look your best in, so it’s time to get your glow back. A great tan will look stunning and fill you with confidence so follow these tips for a perfect, head to toe tan to set your party look off to a tee.

Pamper Yourself

Take time away from the stresses of planning, wrapping and cooking to relax. Indulge yourself and prep your skin over the course of a few days or weeks with gentle exfoliation and daily moisturising. Don’t forget to pay special attention to problem areas such as wrists, elbows, knees and feet – they’re the main culprits for dry patches. Smooth skin is the best foundation for a flawless tan.

Plan Ahead

If you’re self tanning, make a note in the diary to apply it a few days ahead of your party to avoid any last minute disasters. Fake tan needs time to develop, so applying two days before the event is the optimum time. If it’s your first time using fake tan, why not try gradual tan? It’s less of a commitment and the tan/moisturiser mix builds up colour with regular use for a subtle, natural looking result.

Pick the Right Shade

This is possibly the most important rule of all! Whilst it may be tempting to go very dark, a natural look is always much more flattering and realistic. Shop around and pick a shade that works with your colouring and complexion for a sun kissed, holiday-fresh glow.
